Job Description:
Our Ottawa-based government client is seeking a PROGRAMMER/SOFTWARE DEVELOPER (ORACLE PL/SQL) for a 2 year contract (with 2-1 year optional periods).
Candidates must possess Enhanced Reliability security clearance.
Tasks include:
•PL/SQL Development and tuning on Oracle 9i or higher.
•Develop procedures and triggers using PL/SQL.
•Create and maintain data objects in the Oracle database with views, packages, stored procedures, indexes, database links, snapshots, and tables using PL/SQL in a multi-user multi-tier VMS and/or Windows 2003 and/or UNIX environment.
•Design and develop PL/SQL modules for replicating update transactions from the application server to various Oracle database nodes.
•Develop and implement automated builds routines and scripts;
•Implement Oracle PL/SQL components for various prototype and proof-of-concept demonstrations;
•Troubleshoot application errors as required and debug PL/SQL code for custom applications;
•Conduct Application Performance Benchmarking; and
•Participate in code review and unit testing sessions.

The ideal candidate will have::
Demonstrated minimum of 5 years of experience as Oracle database developer creating and modifying PL/SQL packages, stored procedures, views and triggers as part of custom application development or maintenance activities.Demonstrated minimum of 5 years of experience in designing and developing complex data conversion algorithm on an Oracle database in support of re-engineering activities.Demonstrated minimum of 3 years of experience in designing and developing complex data consolidation and conflict resolution procedures in an Oracle database environment.Demonstrated minimum of 1 year of experience as Oracle (Version 9i or higher) DBA in a clustered (RAC) availability environment on HP-UX.Completion of Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Computer Programming, Computer technology, Computer engineering or Software engineering or equivalent. University degree in Computer Science, Computer engineering, Software engineering or equivalent. Demonstrated experience as Oracle database developer creating and modifying PL/SQL packages, stored procedures and views for consumption by a Visual Basic 6.0 (or earlier) and/or ASP (any pre .Net version) application.Demonstrated experience in the preparation of test data in support of development, maintenance, training and production support activities.Demonstrated experience in performing data quality analysis on production databases and in writing batch data management jobs as part of data conversion or data cleaning activities using SQL and PL/SQLDemonstrated experience working with Rational Clear Case and Clear Quest in the context of system development or maintenance activities.
