Job Description:
Our Ottawa based government client is seeking a Business Analyst for a contract position (1 year with a 1 year option).

Candidates must possess TOP SECRET security clearance.

The Business Analysts will undertake the following to provide service for in-service and new implementations of RDIMS:
- Research and gather information with the TA in preparation for sessions to develop short term, medium term and long term implementation plans for RDIMS;
- Ensure validated requirements are documented and addressed;
- Provide written advice and work collaboratively with the DND RDIMS Team on business transformation issues and site readiness for implementation activities, change management and validation and confirmation activities;
- Coordinate and conduct communications, liaison and change management activities with various DND/CF personnel;
- Interview senior management to establish current business processes;
- Provide input and analyze current business processes to determine the way ahead for business process renewal including recommendations for improvements based on the RDIMS System Configuration and profile settings, and Government On Line metadata standard;
- Develop a gap analysis and options analysis report depicting the way ahead with respect to the transition from manual to automated processes.
- Develop business process renewal and migration Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to aid in the smooth transition from a manual system to an automated system;
- Analyze the functional action items brought forward by various means such as Working Groups and Service Desk. Research each action item and develop a plan for resolution;
- Provide written advice to Senior Management, the Business Management Team (BMT) and other team members, explaining the IM function, IM principles, and advocating most effective IM practices;
- Provide input to team leaders in planning, organizing, leading and monitoring the functional activities of the implementation and in-service support team;
- Provide input to the team leaders about potential planning issues;
- Maintain communications with the deployment team leaders and keep them notified of any related developments;
- Prepare and provide briefings to Senior Management;
- Identify feasible options about any change requests, associated benefits, costs and associated risks and present to the TA;
- Provide a detailed business process analysis report for each organization preparing for roll-out of RDIMS; and
- Submit a business process renewal strategy report including process maps.

The ideal candidate will have::
  • minimum of 10 years experience as a Business Analyst
  • minimum of 4 years experience as a Business Analyst with the RDIMS core applications which consists of Hummingbird DM, and at least one (1) of the following: ForeMost RM, iRIMS RM, and/or Hummingbird RM.
  • minimum of 5 years experience as a Business Analyst in a development or operational document management environment
  • demonstrated experience with writing functional specifications
  • demonstrated experience with leading IM/IT focus groups/workshops
  • demonstrated experience in presenting IM/IT related issues to Senior Management and dealing with clients and project teams.
  • demonstrated experience defining and developing functional business requirements
  • demonstrated experience performing workflow analysis
  • demonstrated experience with Open Text Live Link ECM implementations
