Job Description:
Our Ottawa based client is seeking a Business Transformation Consultant for a one year contract position.

All candidates must possess reliability clearance.

TASKS:
The tasks for the business process transformation consultant may include, but is not limited to the following:
-Develop business requirements associated with active prevention, targeted oversight, rapid response or governance work performed in HECSB by:
-Analyzing existing business activities, operations and existing applications
-Identifying and providing recommendations on business process improvement opportunities, best practices & risks
-Document business processes by creating and developing:
-End-to-end process workflows, business models and concepts of operations
-Business activity, business rules and logic models
-Data definition and data flows that can be used for data mapping
-Lead the consultation activities and conduct data gathering exercises with HECSB staff:
-To garner consensus, provide guidance, mediate, set expectations, and prioritize business needs
-To define and develop business end-to-end processes and specific business requirements for delivery of assessment and compliance activities
-To organize, conduct and facilitate workshops, working groups and interviews
-Develop detailed business specifications, documents and presentations
-In collaboration with IMSD, perform non-technical assessment of IT solutions to meet business requirements and prepare gaps and options analyses. The options to be considered include assessment of reusability of existing applications, evaluation of COTS applications, software as a service, or development new applications

The ideal candidate will have::

a minimum of 5 years experience in Private Sector and/or Public Sector organization (such as municipal, provincial, Canadian Crown corporation or Canadian Federal department), including 2 years experience in Canadian Federal departments. This experience must include tasks or assignments associated

either a Certified Business Analyst Professional designation from International Institute of Business Analyst or a combination of education, professional designation and/or work experience equivalent to this certification.

a minimum of five (5) years experience in the past eight (8) years as a business analyst conducting interviews with clients, gathering information, and developing process modelling and workflows such as end-to-end processes to improve administrative or program process as well as service delivery

experience within the last eight (8) years using various business analysis techniques and method related to continuous business improvement or business operations.

experience within the last ten (10) years analyzing existing applications as well as user and technical documentation in order to develop business processes, workflows and business requirements.

experience within the last ten (10) years developing alternative solutions to complex workflow issues, performing gap analysis producing comprehensive documentation related to business requirements and proposed business process (“to be”)
