Job Description:
Our Ottawa based government client is seeking a System Administrator for a contract (1 year plus 1 year option).
Candidates must possess TOP SECRET security clearance.
The System Administrator will undertake the following tasks to provide service for in-service and new implementations of RDIMS:
- Compile and report on requirements through gathering and collecting information as instructed by the TA;
- Install, monitor, upgrade and maintain operating systems, hardware and software;
- Work with the TA, RDIMS Team, and DND/CF personnel to maintain and improve software performance;
- Apply problem solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues;
- Ensure timely and reliable system administration procedures, such as backup and/or recovery;
- Analyze system performance and recommend improvements;
- Provide expert advice and guidance and mentor other team members;
- Participate in the implementation and in-service installations by troubleshooting, testing, maintaining and supporting RDIMS and its components through new deployments, upgrades, and patches of MS Windows Operating Systems, MS Networking, other desktop and server applications, Relational Databases (Oracle and MS SQL) and the infrastructure that supports other Intranet/Internet server side software and hardware;
- Perform analysis of test result data, associated reports and technical research;
- Manage, schedule and perform, as requested by the TA, the migration of all other related data to the RDIMS system;
- Receive and provide the resolution of trouble calls. Document, compile, and analyze these events with regard to identification of trends of inefficiency and the associated solutions;
- Perform installation, configuration and testing of development environment, and related applications on servers and workstations for proposed solutions;
-Track major milestones and ensure deliverables are completed on schedule;
- Provide input to the team leaders about potential planning issues;
- Maintain communications with the deployment team leaders and keep them notified of any related developments;
- Track any decisions made regarding requests for changes and outstanding action items;
- Maintain knowledge of all vendor products, features, bugs and enhancement requests to provide expert knowledge, expertise and advice to the RDIMS Team and clients; and
- Prepare technical briefings and make presentations, as requested by the TA.

The ideal candidate will have::
a minimum of 10 years experience as a System Administratora minimum of 5 years experience running and testing patches on RDIMS core which consists of Hummingbird DM, and at least one (1) of the following: ForeMost RM, iRIMS RM, and/or Hummingbird RMa minimum of 5 years experience implementing and installing RDIMS core applications which consists of Hummingbird DM, and at least one (1) of the following: ForeMost RM, iRIMS RM, and/or Hummingbird RM.demonstrated experience running and testing patches on RDIMS core applications which consists of Hummingbird DM, and at least one (1) of the following: ForeMost RM, iRIMS RM, and/or Hummingbird RMdemonstrated experience implementing and installing RDIMS core applications which consists of Hummingbird DM, and at least one (1) of the following: ForeMost RM, iRIMS RM, and/or Hummingbird RM.demonstrated experience importing and re-indexing documents in an RDIMS environment.demonstrated experience importing documents utilizing the Hummingbird DM Bulk Import tool.demonstrated experience initializing and monitoring a RDIMS DM application in a Windows 2000/2003 Server environmentdemonstrated experience using System Administrator reporting tools such as Crystal Report Professional, Business Object Enterprise, Livelink ECM Business Intelligence Toolsdemonstrated experience with creating/maintaining/reviewing technical documentation
