Job Description:
Our Ottawa based client is seeking a Technical Writer for a 3 month contract position, with additional 3 month optional period.

All candidates must possess Reliability Clearance.

English essential, french considered an asset.

Scope of work:
-Produce technical documentation and work with the Informatics Manager and team. Techical writer must have the following:
-Experience writing technical documentation including:
User requirements;
Functional specifications
Test cases
Configuration management
-Demonstrated adaptability, professionalism, and good written and oral communication skills
-Excellent grammar and spelling
- Proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Visio
-Ability to produce text and graphic layouts
-Ability to prepare information for both technical and non-technical people
-Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines
-Ability to lead peer reviewsand walkthroughs with technical architects and update documentation accordingly

In order accomplish this, the individual must become familiar with the environment and:
-Review existing documentation and familiarize oneself thoroughly with the existing Business Solution
-Liaise with IT project resources to gather information required to produce the technical documentation
-Participate in regularly scheduled adhoc meetings in support of producton of the deliverables
-Work with technical team to ensure documentation standards are followed:
-Participate in functional and technical design reviews, perform integration/functional and system testing,and verify test results
-Work on multiple documents simultaneously

The ideal candidate will have::

experience within the last six years working as a Technical Writer

experience writing technical documents and functional design documents, icluding user requirments, test cases, configuration management and functional specifications

experience with developing user documentations such as user guides as well experience using Microsoft suite of tools

excellent oral and written communication skills. Grammar, spelling, ablity to lead discussion.

demonstrated ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines
