Job Description:
Our Ottawa based client is seeking a Tester for a 2 year contract position, with an optional 1 year contract extension.

All candidates must possess reliability clearance.

Bilingualism is considered an asset.

The Tester must provide:

-Written comments. All written comments must be submitted via email or inserted directly onto the document with regards to the validity of the DEAIS business requirements;
-Written comments. All written comments must be submitted to the Technical Authority via email or inserted directly on the document with regards to the validity of the DEAIS functional specifications;
-Level of effort and time estimates. Level of effort and time estimates must be submitted via email and/or by completing the Progress Report Template for completion of testing effort;
-Email containing pertinent information regarding project status and related information with regards to the testing effort;
-Test plan document. Test plan document must provide an overview of the areas that must be covered and the types of testing that must be completed;
-Test case document. Test case document must provide detailed steps with expected outcomes for each functional area;
-Updated test iteration report with pass/fail results indicated for functional testing. A template will be provided;
-Updated test iteration report with pass/fail results indicated for performance, integration, and interoperability testing. A template will be provided;
-Verification of the existing functionality of an application using the test case document and an update of the test iteration report with pass/fail results;
-Automated Test Suite repository stored in VSTS, HP Quick Test Professional, and/or IBM Rational Functional Testing/ Rational Robot for an assigned application for review as requested;
-Electronic record of defects stored in VSTS or HP Quality Center or IBM Clear Quest or Bug-Track, or MKS Integrity Manager for an assigned application as requested;
-Test iteration report document that identifies the test cases that were executed and the defects that are identified for an iteration of testing;
-Test synopsis report document that provides an overview of all the iterations of testing and verification that he application has been release from testing;
-Test traceability matrix document that maps the test cases to the functional specifications and business requirements;
-Updated test iteration report document containing the modifications to the defects that were identified at the end of meetings; and
-Written status report. Written status report must be submitted via email. A template will be provided by the Technical Authority.

The ideal candidate will have::
  • Experience in a minimum of 2 projects in reviewing and providing comments on test documentation including business and functional requirements.
  • experience in a minimum of 3 projects in managing and tracking defects
  • experience in a minimum of 2 projects completing test reports.
  • experience in a minimum of 3 projects in the coordination and development of test plans for web and client server applications
  • experience in a minimum of 3 projects creating test cases for web and client server applications
  • a minimum of 3 years of experience in performing functional and non-functional testing of a web and client server applications
  • experience in a minimum of 2 projects conducting regression testing
  • experience in a minimum of 2 projects conducting integration and interoperability testing
  • a minimum of 1 year of experience with testing tools, for example Mercury Interactive, HP Test Director, Visual Studio Team System for Testers, or IBM Rational
  • experience with test automation tools as well as Visual Studio Team System for Testers (VSTS)
