Job Description:
Our Ottawa based client is seeking a Financial Analyst (Army G6) for a one year contract position.

All candidates must possess Secret Clearance.

TASKS:
Financial Analyst (Army G6)

a) Evaluating financial procedures within the Army G6 directorate;
b) Conducting cost benefit analysis and life cycle costing;
c) Providing input into business plans, Strategic Operations and Resource Direction (SORD), and Strategic Operations and Resource Plan (SORP);
d) Performing risk analysis;
e) Assisting in developing costs for specific activities such as: direct project costs, project supporT overhead, corporate and administrative (C&A) overhead, costs of products and services, and other related costs;
f) Prepare quarterly and weekly budget reports as required in order to identify surpluses and pressures at the Directorate level;
g) Quarterly cash flow forecasts;
h) Prepare annual prioritized funding requirements;
i) Conduct historical, trend and options analysis;
j) Reconciling Financial Management Accounting System (FMAS)
k) expenditures to the budget and recommending corrective actions;
l) Monitoring and reporting of the financial expenditure for Command Support IT infrastructure services;
m) Preparing financial cost analyses for Land Force Command Support IT infrastructure services; and
n) Synchronize National IT Support Program, LF Command Support Program, and Capability Release (CR) Program funding requirements with the Land Force Funding Model (LFFM);

The ideal candidate will have::

experience with the DND/CF IT infrastructure and IT support services as gained through

experience in duties, responsibilities that required application of Government of Canada corporate financial accounting policies and practices, including familiarity in the use of Financial and Managerial Accounting System (FMAS) application

experience in duties, responsibilities related to data management, for the creation and operational use of MS Access databases for project data/reports

experience in preparation and completion of detailed IT financial analyses for senior management (for example: Total Cost of Ownership, Financial expenditure reviews or quarterly reviews analyses reports).

have a CA or CMA designation

a current Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
