Job Description:
Our Ottawa based client is seeking a System Analyst Level 3 for a contract position. Contract running from date of award to March 31, 2013 with two additional 1 year optional periods.

All candidates must possess Reliability Clearance.

The System Analyst (Level 3) must perform, but is not limited to, the following tasks:

a) Perform system development and programming and maintenance of OMS components.
b) Translate business requirements into systems design and specifications.
c) Analyse areas in the OMS application and recommend alternatives/options for solutions to problems.
d) Develop technical specifications for systems development, design and implementation.
e) Develop Oracle-based applications.

The ideal candidate will have::
  • a minimum of three (3) years experience writing software applications using the Cognos Powerhouse products.
  • a minimum of three (3) years experience writing software applications using the Borland Interbase product
  • a minimum of four (4) years experience maintaining Oracle RDBMS (version 9 or higher).
  • a minimum of four (4) years experience in systems development, maintenance and documentation of Oracle databases.
  • a minimum of two (2) years experience within the last five (5) years with large scale database conversions in distributed Powerhouse-Interbase environments, with responsibilities such as database design, conversion strategies, and implementation
  • a minimum of two (2) years experience within the last three (3) years in performing systems development work in a VMS/Open VMS or HP UNIX Operating System environment
  • Experience in excess of that outlined in mandatory criteria 1.6.a, writing software applications using the Cognos Powerhouse products
  • Experience in excess of that outlined in mandatory criteria 1.6.b, writing software applications using the Borland Interbase products
  • Experience in excess of that outlined in mandatory criteria 1.6.d, in systems development, maintenance and documentation of Oracle database
  • Experience in excess of that outlined in mandatory criteria 1.6.e, within the last five (5) years with large database conversions in distributed Powerhouse-Interbase environments, with responsibilities such as database design, conversion strategies, and implementation.
