Job Description:
Our Ottawa based is seeking a Project Manager for a one year contract position.

All candidates must possess reliability clearance.

TASKS:

The tasks for the project manager may include, but is not limited to the following:
-Consolidate and integrate with the assessment activities of existing applications or IT services to meet
business requirements
-In collaboration with IMSD, prepare gap and options analysis. The options to be considered include
assessment of reusability of existing applications, evaluation of COTS applications, software as a service
or development new applications
- Identify long-term support requirement and develop strategy for new or COTS applications, migration
strategy for applications that will be replaced or consolidated, and training strategy for staff. The
requirements and strategies will be used in the development and implementation of IT application
• Collaborate and communicate with key Branch and Departmental stakeholders that are performing similar
initiatives in order to:
-Identify core users, critical success factors, opportunities and risks to common business processes
-Establish a common implementation strategy and communications approach
-Coordinate the activities of project personnel, HECSB internal customers, contractors and other support
providers
-Prepare formal Statement of Work, project charter, work breakdown structure and compliance charts
-Produce integrated project plan, project estimate, risk and change management plan, and communication
plan for the development and implementation of IT application
-Research and advise project authority of lessons learned
-Plan, coordinate, facilitate and document project and team activities
-Prepare documentation and briefings on progress and concerns for the project, in response to scheduled
or unscheduled reports, returns and observations
-Throughout the duration of the work, liaise with HECSB Office of Business Services staff located at 269
Laurier Avenue and provide progress reports

The ideal candidate will have::

either a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from Project Management Institute (PMI) or a combination of education, professional designation and/or work experience equivalent to this certification.

a minimum of four (4) years managing experience in Private Sector and/or Public Sector organization (such as municipal, provincial, Canadian Crown corporation or Canadian Federal department), including two (2) years experience in Canadian Federal department.

a minimum of four (4) years experience in business transformation, performing business analysis and options analysis using technical and non-technical criteria, conducting investigations and research, analyzing business functional requirements, developing implementation strategies for IT applicatio

experience of at least three (3) projects, within the last ten (10) years, managing projects requiring the integration of business activities into common business process and tools or the implementation of information technology solutions across an organization

experience of at least two (2) projects, within the last ten (10) years, performing consultations and facilitating groups consisting of both business and technical representatives spanning different levels of management. Each project must be minimum of forty (40) working days in duration

experience of at least two (2) projects, within the last ten (10) years, analyzing existing applications as well as user and technical documentation performing options and gap analysis using technical and non-technical criteria for IT solutions
